Samantha & Jason’s Kholo Botanical Gardens Wedding | Ipswich Wedding Photographer

I first met Sam & Jason at their home in Ipswich when they’d recently become engaged and started the planning of their upcoming wedding.  Sam’s excitement and nerves for the big day were evident from my very first meeting with her.  Sam and I have built a very close friendship during the time she’s been planning her wedding and so I couldn’t have been more excited for the big day to finally arrive.  Although it was less a year from the time they booked me until their wedding, it didn’t feel like the time passed quickly for her and me too.

Sam’s initial plan to walk down the aisle alone changed very last minute when her Dad, Stan made the trip from NSW to attend their wedding and escort his daughter down the aisle.  This was such a dream come true for Sam and the emotion was truly evident as I captured the many tears of pure joy run down her cheek as he proudly escorted her to her husband to be.   Due to some health issues, Stan was unable to walk Sam down the aisle, but this was not going to stop him proudly being by her side as she walked down the aisle.  He had a mobile scooter and he was clearly proud as punch having the honour to do this for his daughter.
Samantha & Jason recently tied the knot at the beautiful, Kholo Botanical Gardens, Ipswich.  The ceremony was small and intimate but certainly full of emotion and laughter. Marrying this gorgeous couple, so in love, was one of my good friends in the wedding industry, Stacey Maguire.  Not only is she genuine in what she does as a celebrant, but is also incredibly compassionate & professional.  During the time Sam was walking down the aisle Stacey explained to the guests how Sam’s entry was a beautiful representation of love. In Stacey’s words, “Sometimes, love needs patience but it also takes time because as the couple grow together. So does their love and over time it allows them to discover many dimensions to their own selves allowing them to fall in love over and over”.  I think these words are words we can all appreciate.

The portrait session with Sam & Jason was certainly HOT! Wow! That’s probably the first word that comes to mind as I write this blog post.  It was a very humid day and everyone was certainly feeling the heat but it certainly didn’t deter us from capturing Jason & Sam’s relationship for what it is and the love they share. Once arriving at the reception, Sam was truly overwhelmed by the styling of the reception venue and with beautiful centre-pieces and plenty of lavender throughout the room.

When it came time to get started with some formalities, by far the best of the night was the very emotional Father Daughter Dance.  OMG! Not a dry eye in the room during that amazing dance…myself included.  Wait til you see the photos from that and tell me if you don’t feel emotional seeing the photos!!

I’m going to let the photos tell the story…
